1647. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his views that proposals moved by the Taxi Regulation Review Group in 2011, and which currently form part of the public consultation document on taxi roof signs and mandatory SPSV driver safety equipment, would make in-car CCTV and partitions mandatory in all taxis; if he has considered the effects these proposals will have, if implemented, on costs to taxi drivers and their working conditions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The regulation of the taxi industry is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA), under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act, 2013. I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. I ask her to advise my private office if she does not receive a reply within ten working days.
