To ask the Minister for Health the current number of critical care beds within the health service; the increase in intensive care unit bed numbers since the death of a person (details supplied) in 2010; the number of intensive care unit beds which could be opened, subject to the allocation of additional staffing; the capital plan for such beds; the number of requests handled each month by the critical care bed bureau since its establishment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
