As the Deputy is aware, Healthy Ireland, A Framework for Improved Health and Well-being 2013-2025, is the national framework for action to improve the health and well-being of the country over the coming generation. The Framework takes a "whole of Government" and "whole of society" approach to improving health and well-being which is based on the international experience and thinking in addressing the broad social determinants of health.

Expenditure on the implementation of Healthy Ireland is primarily met from within the budget of the Department of Health. Since Healthy Ireland was launched in March 2013, expenditure has amounted to the following:

2013€89,315.07
2014€586,470.90
2015 €48,766.42 (to date)
There are currently five staff in my Department assigned to work in the Health and Well-being Programme which has responsibility for coordinating the implementation of Healthy Ireland.
