485. To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the current average age of permanent staff employed within her Department; and the agencies under her Department's remit; the way this varies from the end of 2008 and the end of 2011; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [29201/15]

The average age of staff employed in my Department and the agencies under my remit rose by between three and six years in the period between 2008 and 2015. The moratorium on recruitment over that period will have contributed to the rise in the average age.
