I wish to advise the Deputy that applications for compensation under the terms of the Scheme of Compensation for Personal Injuries Criminally Inflicted are decided by the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal, who are entirely independent in how they deal with individual applications under the Scheme. However, I have had enquiries made with the Tribunal on behalf of this individual and understand that the Tribunal is in receipt of an application from him.

I am informed that during the routine processing of the application it appeared that an essential document had not been submitted. I further understand that the Tribunal recently wrote to the legal representatives involved in this matter requesting that the outstanding document be submitted. On receipt of same the application will receive further attention.
