To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if his Department has received any request for financial assistance from Galway City Council and from Sligo County Council in respect of costs associated with the recent visit of members of the British royal family; if his Department had budgeted for the visit; the level of funding his Department plans to provide to Galway City Council and Sligo County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department received an enquiry from Sligo County Council but has not received a formal request for financial assistance in respect of costs associated with the recent visit of members of the British royal family. I have no plans to provide funding for such costs. Matters of this nature fall within the remit of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.
