215. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if he will confirm that persons can transfer from the rental accommodation scheme in one local authority to the scheme in another local authority; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26663/15]

Local authorities can facilitate inter county transfers for those in the Rental Accommodation Scheme ( RAS ). A tenant could transfer from one authority to another within RAS, by agreement with both of the relevant local authorities. However, it is dependent on what provision is made for transfers generally in a local authority’s own Allocations Scheme.  It is entirely a matter for the authorities concerned to consider applications for transfer.
