I can confirm that the school referred to by the Deputy has made an application to my Department for capital funding for the provision of additional school accommodation.
The application is currently being considered and a decision will be conveyed to the school authority shortly.

I can confirm that the school referred to by the Deputy has submitted an application to my Department for capital funding for a P.E. Hall. I wish to advise the Deputy that due to the competing demands on my Department's capital budget imposed by the need to prioritise available funding for the provision of essential classroom accommodation, it is not possible at this point to provide an indicative timeframe for the provision of a PE hall.
The Deputy will be aware that my Department recently provided grant aid of €1.2m to the school for mainstream and special needs accommodation and I understand that this building project was completed last November.
