455. To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality her views on whether the €1,000 annual remuneration paid to members of An Garda Síochána Reserve is sufficient; her plans to increase this amount; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [23366/15]

The annual allowance payable to Reserve members as a contribution towards their expenses is set at €1,000 per annum. The Finance (No. 2) Act 2013 provided that the allowance paid to members of Garda Reserve be exempt from taxation. Garda Reserve members are also reimbursed for expenses incurred while attending court in respect of their service as a Reserve member. There are no plans to change these payments in the near future.
