489. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he is aware of any fin fish installations which were not located within their licensed areas in whole or in part, including their mooring lines and anchors; if these operators have been asked to rectify the situation; if so, the number that remain outside their licensed areas; if he will provide a list of these operators; and the actions he plans to take to ensure his authorised officers are appropriately supported and the licensing conditions are met. 490. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he is aware of any failure in lighting or radar reflectors on fin fish installations along the coast; if so, if he will detail the location and extent of the failures to meet the license requirements; the action he has taken in this regard; the number that remain in breach of the basic safety regulations; and the actions he plans to take to ensure his authorised officers are appropriately supported and the licensing conditions are met. I propose to take Questions Nos. 489 and 490 together.

The wide-ranging nature of the information requested by the Deputy will require a detailed examination of my Department’s records as well as possible consultation with other Departments and relevant agencies.

The relevant information will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
