To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if he will report, following the decision of the Supreme Court on 24 April 2015 to uphold the result of the children’s rights referendum, if Article 42A is now effective; if not, when he plans to commence the legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Thirty-First Amendment of the Constitution (Children) Act, 2012, enshrining Article 42A into the Constitution, was signed into law on 28 April, 2015.
