The holding in question was restricted under the TB Eradication Scheme on 24 February 2015 following the disclosure of positive lesions in an animal which was sent for slaughter by the herdowner. The holding remains restricted until two clear herd tests have been completed on the herd. The initial herd test was carried out on the herd on 25 April with all animals testing clear. A further test is scheduled to take place on 24 June 2015. The Hardship Grant is aimed at assisting eligible herdowners whose holdings are restricted and where animals are retained and fed during the eligibility period, i.e. 1 November 2014 to 30 April 2015. An application form and related scheme documentation is issued by the DVO to all potentially eligible herdowners and the onus is on herdowners to apply for the grant. However, my Department has no record of receiving an application from the person concerned and late applications are not accepted.
