The Redress for Women Resident in Certain Institutions Act 2015 makes provision for a broad range of health services and benefits for women who qualify under the Department of Justice and Equality Restorative Justice Scheme for women who were admitted to and worked in the Magdalen Laundries and similar institutions.
The HSE is finalising the arrangements for access to the health services provided for under the Act and will contact the women who qualify when these are in place. It is expected that the HSE will be in contact in June.
Each woman will receive a RWRCI card which will serve as evidence of eligibility for services under the Act. In addition, each woman will receive a comprehensive information note on the services available and contact details for further information from the HSE.
