87. To ask the Minister for Finance the dialogue his Department had with the European Commission regarding the appointment of a special liquidator to the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation; if he will release all documentation and correspondence concerning same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There was no specific dialogue between my Department and the European Commission in relation to the appointment of the Special Liquidator to IBRC given the scale and sensitivity of that decision. It should be noted however that the European Commission, as part of the Troika, were involved in discussions regarding the restructuring of the Promissory Notes generally in the period leading up to the agreement with the European Central Bank in February 2013.
