Funding for mainstream activities of a sporting organisation was not eligible under the LEADER element of the Rural Development Programme 2007– 2013. Such applications were more appropriate to the Sports Capital Programme which is the responsibility of the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.

The eligibility rules of the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme have yet to be finalised. I expect that the 2014-2020 Rural Development Programme will commence during 2015.
