854. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the action that has been taken since the Dublin Port tunnel opened to ban any tunnel user from using the tunnel; the reason for such action; the number of such bans and the duration of same; if appeals were made and the outcome of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. ​As Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, I have responsibility for overall policy and funding in relation to the national roads programme. The implementation and management of individual national road projects, including the Dublin Port Tunnel, is a matter for the National Roads Authority (NRA) under the Roads Acts 1993-2007, in conjunction with the relevant local authorities concerned.  

Noting the above position, I have referred the Deputy's question to the NRA for direct response. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within ten working days.
