In order to assess their eligibility to a widow’s contributory pension, the person concerned should complete and return the application form, which was issued in early March, to the Widow’s ,Widower’s and Surviving Civil Partner’s Contributory Pension Section, College Road, Sligo.

On receipt of the completed application form, the person’s entitlement to a widow’s contributory pension will be examined by a Deciding Officer who will notify the person, in writing, of their decision.

In addition, as the person concerned resides in Ireland, all of the required information will be sent by the Department, on behalf of the person concerned, directly to the Department of Work and Pensions in the UK and requesting their UK pension eligibility to be examined. The Department of Work and Pensions will make a decision on entitlement and notify the person concerned directly of the outcome.
