972. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his Department and the National Roads Agency have a policy for adopting roundabout schemes throughout the country; if so, if he will provide the policy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11542/15]

​Any decision on whether or not to install a roundabout on a road is a matter for the relevant road authority. In the case of national roads decisions are made in conjunction with the National Roads Authority (NRA).

Guidance on the general principles regarding where it is appropriate to install roundabouts is set out in the which are available on the Department's website.
