Under the Child Care Act 1991, as amended, the Child and Family Agency has responsibility for payment of any costs incurred by a person who has been appointed by a court to act as a guardian ad litem in proceedings under the Act.
The Agency has informed me that its financial system does not provide the ability to obtain, from invoices from guardian ad litemorganisations, the number of individual guardians ad liteminvolved. It has further advised that the nature of the guardian ad litempayments are to settle invoices received from individual guardians ad litemor guardian ad litemorganisations for services provided in accordance with their appointment by the Courts in family law proceedings.
