I have been informed by the Garda Commissioner that the number of applicants currently outstanding to join An Garda Síochána Reserves is a matter to be addressed by the Public Appointments Service who act as agents for the Garda Commissioner in the initial application stages for the position of Garda Reserve Trainee.

There is no set waiting time for a decision to accept an applicant as a Garda Reserve Trainee as this is contingent on a number of factors which includes security and vetting checks and medical examination. The length of time these processes take to complete vary from applicant to applicant.
