364. To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if the mother's date of birth would ordinarily have been recorded on her file when she was placing her child for adoption; and if, for this or other reasons, the Adoption Authority of Ireland or adoption agencies are likely to have a record of the date of birth of each woman who placed a baby for adoption here since the enactment of the Adoption Act 1952. The Adoption Authority of Ireland has advised that adoption consent forms only require the age of the mother to be inserted on the form when she is under 18 years of age (or under 21 years of age on the earlier consent forms). The Authority also advised that information regarding the mother's age, held on other forms in relation to the child varies, with some holding details of the mother's date of birth, age, approximate age or no information in this regard.
