To ask the Minister for Health if he will provide a breakdown, in tabular form, of referrals made under the Treatment Abroad Scheme, specifically with regard to persons, where undue delay is being experienced in accessing necessary treatments, for the years 2011, 2012 and 2013; if he will also provide information on costings in respect of treatments provided for under the scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Health Service Executive has been asked to examine this matter and to reply to the Deputy as soon as possible. If the Deputy has not received a reply from the HSE within 15 working days, please contact my Private Office who will follow up the matter with them.

To ask the Minister for Health the way the provision for persons to seek a referral to the Treatment Abroad Scheme is applied, where persons are experiencing undue delay in accessing necessary treatments; if he will indicate how long the undue delay, and the criteria applied by the referring consultant, with regard to potential deterioration in the condition of persons; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
