To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of harassment complaints received by An Garda Síochána, involving online harassment through social media websites, in the years 2012, 2013 and 2014; the number of prosecutions arising from same; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Garda Síochána Act 2005 makes provision for the compilation and publication of crime statistics by the Central Statistics Office (CSO), as the national statistical agency, and the CSO has established a dedicated unit for this purpose.

I have requested the CSO to provide such relevant information as may be available directly to the Deputy.
