337. The Charities Regulatory Authority (CRA) has statutory responsibility for the registration and regulation of all charitable organisations operating in the State. There are currently no savings clubs registered as charities on the Register of Charities held by the CRA and published on its website at www.charitiesregulatoryauthority.ie.

Any application for registration as a charity received from a savings club by the CRA will be assessed as appropriate against the criteria for charitable status set out in the Charities Act.
