The Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) were established on 15 April 2014 on foot of the County Enterprise Boards (Dissolution) Act 2014. Upon dissolution, each LEO retained the individual allocations that were made to them as City and County Enterprise Boards (CEBs) at the start of 2014. In the case of the Longford and Westmeath CEBs, the initial current and capital allocations made are set out in the table.

CEB / LEOCurrent AllocationCapital Allocation
Longford €257,661€333,769
Westmeath €324,269€379,310
These amounts were supplemented in October 2014 by a further capital allocation of €20,000 and €40,000 to the LEOs in Longford and Westmeath, respectively, while the LEO Longford received an additional current allocation of €1,599.
