Departmental Staff Career Breaks

To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if she will provide in tabular form, the number of staff in her Department currently on a sabbatical/career break broken down by zero to six months, six to 12 months, one to two years, two to three years, four to five years and more than five years. [49120/14]

There are currently ten staff in my Department on career break and the details requested by the Deputy are set out in tabular form below.

Staff can also avail of unpaid leave under the Shorter Working Year Scheme for periods of between 2 and 13 weeks. Currently, 49 staff in my Department are availing of the 2014 scheme, while 37 staff have been approved for 2015.
