It is a matter for the Minister for Justice and Equality to consider the issues with regard to the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, known as the Istanbul Convention, as well as Ireland's signature to, and ratification of, this Convention, as appropriate. My Department continues to liaise with the Department of Justice and Equality on this issue.
