611. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans to create on street ticket vending machines at high use bus stops throughout Dublin and Cork cities in order to decrease the volume of cash payments as they can adversely affect scheduled punctuality. [46361/14]

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has statutory responsibility for the provision of public transport infrastructure in the Greater Dublin Area (GDA). The Authority also manages the Regional Cities Programme on behalf of my Department which funds the development of sustainable public transport measures in the regional cities of Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford.

Noting this I have referred the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within 10 working days.
