It is not the policy of the Department to release files or records even on a redacted basis that relate to past investigations in the maritime area in respect of loss of life or vessels. It is however the practice of the Marine Casualty Investigation Board, a statutory body established in 2002, to publish a report following investigations carried out by the Board.
