146. To ask the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the revised approach of dealing with emergency call outs in response to serious road collisions whereby only an ambulance is now dispatched to assess the scene of the collision and a determination is then made to seek the assistance of fire brigade personnel rather than both an ambulance and fire brigade personnel being dispatched as was previously the case; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that this revised approach is negatively affecting the treatment of victims of road collisions because of the time lapse involved for key fire brigade personnel to attend at a collision and the loss of precious time during the so-called golden hour after a collision has occurred.
