To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the total cost to date of developing the forthcoming postcode system, Eircode; if he will provide a breakdown, in tabular form, of the names of all external consultants engaged in the development of the new system, including amounts paid to each consultant on each individual contract and the dates paid; the further expenditure in respect of same for which a commitment has been made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A contract was signed by Capita Business Support Services Ireland Limited in December 2013 to develop and roll out the National Postcode System over a 10 year period. Total spend to date on that contract is €3.22m. Aside from the contract with Capita, the table below includes all consultancy costs from 2010 to date associated with the National Postcode System.
