134. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the legal distance that must be maintained between the water mains and gas meters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [44618/14]

This matter does not arise as the water meter is located at the outside stop valve (OSV) for the domestic dwelling at the connection with the water mains on publically accessible land, whereas gas meters are generally located at the wall of the dwelling itself.

As regards the location of utility pipes in the network, the gas networks utility would have stipulations on proximity to their pipe based on the pressure of the pipe in question.
