436. To ask the Minister for Health the reason a child care and preschool facility (details supplied) in County Donegal is allocated only €8.30 per hour by the Health Service Executive to pay for a special needs assistant, this being despite the fact that the facility must comply with employment legislation which sets the minimum wage at €8.65 per hour; his plans to increase this payment made to the facility by the HSE; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The particular issue raised by the Deputy is a service matter for the Health Service Executive. Accordingly I have arranged for the question to be referred to the Health Service Executive for direct reply to the Deputy. If you have not received a reply from the HSE within 15 working days please contact my Private Office and they will follow up the matter with them.
