Water Services Provision

540. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government if he will instruct Irish Water to provide the necessary funding to complete phase 2 of the water mains upgrade of the Green Road, Mullingar, County Westmeath and also ensure that residents will not be charged for water until such upgrade take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Since 1 January 2014, Irish Water is responsible for the delivery of water services capital infrastructure. Irish Water has published its Capital Investment Plan 2014-2016 and this is available online at

The further progression of all water services capital projects, including water conservation in Westmeath, is now a matter for Irish Water to consider. Irish Water has established a dedicated team to deal with representations and queries from public representatives.
