424. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the amount of beef imported into this country by month to date in 2014. [41450/14]

The amount of beef imported per month is set out below up to end-August which is the most recent point for which the CSO has available data. The figures below are in tonnes.

Ireland produced approximately 520,000 tonnes of beef in 2013 and Bord Bia estimates that around 470,000 tonnes of this was exported.
