277. To ask the Minister for Finance the position regarding the charge on a property when the full moneys owed on the mortgage account have been paid to the mortgage provider but the deeds to the property have not yet been released and have now been transferred to another entity (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. Neither I nor the Special Liquidators are able to discuss the circumstances of individuals who had accounts with IBRC and it would not be appropriate to discuss such matters through Dáil business. The Special Liquidators retain responsibility and authority for determining the strategy, commercial policies, and for conducting the day-to-day operations of IBRC (In Special Liquidation) and I cannot intervene in the day-to-day management decisions of the bank.
I would recommend that the mortgage holder contacts the new purchasers of the mortgage as soon as it is feasible in order to resolve this matter.
