225. To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the number of vacancies at present on the board of Inland Fisheries Ireland; the way and when these vacancies will be filled; if they have been advertised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [39684/14]

There are currently no vacancies on the Board of Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI). A vacancy will arise on the Board, in the normal course of events, on the 3rd of November 2014. In accordance with Section 12 of the Inland Fisheries Act 2010, this vacancy will fall to be be filled on advice received from the Joint Oireachtas Committee (in this case Transport and Communications). To be of assistance to the Committee and with the agreement of those who applied, details of those who have made expressions of interest to be considered for appointment to vacancies on the Board of IFI are being made availabe by my Department to that Committee.
