I understand that the report of the study on raw milk is being prepared by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and will be published when finalised, later this year. The findings are expected to confirm that raw milk contains traces of pathogens at comparable levels to those found in previous studies and in other countries. For this reason, the Scientific Committee of the Food Safety Authority recommends that consumers should only drink pasteurised milk, as pasteurisation continues to be an effective measure to ensure the safety of milk.
