To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the number of persons who are on public or Civil Service pensions who have been recruited for work on any basis, permanent or temporary, under the remit of his Department in 2012, 2013 and to date in 2014; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm that four persons in receipt of civil or public service pensions were employed in my Department during 2012; five during 2013 and five during 2014. The abatement principle was applied in all cases and all were employed in a temporary capacity.
