To ask the Minister for Health the procurement process in place in counties Kilkenny, Carlow and Waterford for the supply of lightbulbs, fluorescent tubes and such like items; when the tender was last reviewed; if there is a number of suppliers; if the various Health Service Executive offices and hospitals in the area are obliged to purchase from suppliers based on best price; and if he will make a statement on the matter. All Government Departments and Agencies funded from the Exchequer must comply with EU Directives and national guidelines on procurement.

Procurement of light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and such like items in the health care sector is a service matter. Therefore your question has been referred to the HSE for direct reply.
