The Director of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC), the only body under the aegis of my Department, is paid at Assistant Secretary level. His 2014 salary is €136,496. This is a reduction from €170,546 in 2012 and €161,610 in 2013, as he no longer receives an allowance in lieu of pension having joined the pension scheme for Non-Established State Employees, as well as reflecting changes provided for in the Haddington Road Agreement.
