The Pension Unit of my Department is obliged to ensure that priority is given to processing retirement pension benefits for pension scheme members and, as the Deputy will appreciate, the end of the school year is the peak period for such retirements. The next priority is accorded to applications for pension benefit statements from members who express an intention to retire in the current school year and so on.
The communication from the person to whom the Deputy refers is not within the higher priority range and will be dealt with as soon as possible when resources permit. The person was informed of the availability of detailed information on the web in the acknowledgement which issued on receipt of the communication.
