1701. To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if his attention has been drawn to plans to ease traffic congestion in Galway city, in view of the reported increase in traffic on certain routes in the city during the school term; if bus routes and timetables could be synchronised with school locations and start times to encourage greater use of the bus network; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of bus services is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) and I have forwarded the Deputy's question to the NTA for direct reply. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days. Traffic management is a matter the relevant Local Authority.
