131. To ask the Minister for Defence if there is a private wastewater treatment plant at Gormanstown Army camp; if it was inspected recently, if it was found not to be working satisfactorily and, furthermore, if this had been the situation for some time; if so, the reason this situation was allowed to develop; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There is a private wastewater treatment plant operated by the Defence Forces in Gormanstown Camp. In June 2014 it was found to be in breach of the licence agreement with Meath County Council and upon further investigation it was discovered that the problem had been in existence since November 2013. The matter is being investigated and all efforts are being made to bring the plant into full compliance and whatever work is required to rectify the situation will be carried out as swiftly as possible.
