348. To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation if grant support is available to enable the expansion of a business (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29383/14]

The company that the Deputy is referring to wrote directly to my Department for advice on 30thJune 2014. A response issued from my office on the 30thJune 2014 explaining that if the company has been refused credit from the bank they may be eligible to apply for credit under the Credit Guarantee Scheme or the Microenterprise Loan Fund Scheme. The company has been advised to contact their Local Enterprise Office (LEO) in order to establish what supports and options may be available to them. A link to the website ‘Supporting SMEs’ was also provided. This online guide is part of the Irish Government’s Supporting SMEs campaign, to increase awareness of the range of Government supports for start-ups and small businesses.

The company may also wish to obtain advice regarding the Jobs Plus Scheme, an employer incentive scheme from the Department of Social Protection which is a simple, easily understood and attractive scheme that will encourage employers to recruit from the cohort of the long term unemployed. The incentive will be payable, on a monthly basis, over a two year period.
