To ask the Minister for Health the number of new discretionary medical cards issued in the first six months of 2014, 2013, 2012; in the first six months of 2011; the second six months of 2011, 2010 and 2009 respectively; the corresponding figure for the total number of discretionary cards renewed and refused in each time period; the total entitlement to medical cards in each time period concerned; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
