73. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if the National Learning Network has broadened its criteria for accepting students as opposed to only students with disabilities; and the rationale in doing so in view of the fact that disabled students may suffer at the expense of other students and lose the chance of badly needed education and training places, something which NLA was initially set up to cater for. I am informed by SOLAS that the entry criteria for courses under the Specialist Training Programme for people with disabilities, which are provided by NLN and other specialist training providers, have not changed.

However, NLN is also involved in the provision of other types of training such as Momentum and contract training courses which are not designed specifically for learners who have disabilities.
