For the years 2008-2011, the IYJS - Centres for Young Offenders did have a capital budget. This responsibility and budget transferred to the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs with effect from 1 January 2012. The overall capital spending for Centres for Young Offenders for 2008-2011 is set out in the table below. Some of this spending went to the Office of Public Works. I would like to inform the Deputy that of the €62 million allocation, approximately €33.5 million is earmarked for construction related projects in 2014. The majority of these projects relate to the Irish Prisons Service and include among others, major projects such as Mountjoy refurbishment, Wheatfield Prison, Cork Prison and Limerick Prison.
