I propose to take Questions Nos. 617 and 618 together.

My Department provides funding under the Control of Horses Act, 1996, to assist local authorities implement the provision of the Act in relation to stray, abandoned and wandering horses. The table, which is based on the information provided to me by local authorities, shows the number of horses seized and euthanised in their operation of the Control of Horses Act in 2013.
