To ask the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs if he is satisfied with the manner in which residential care staff sleep over duty hours and payments are calculated and that this matter has been referred as a formal complaint to the European Commission as breaching the EU Working Time Directive; the action he will take regarding same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The matters referred to above are currently part of a Labour Relations Commission conciliation process which is ongoing and I am therefore not in a position to comment at this time.
